Anew Editions An edition is only the latest preface.
Anew Editions brings out-of-print scholarly books back as digital editions a scholar can cite: the first edition's text proofread against print, its notes linked, its page numbers kept, as pages on the web and as a free-standing EPUB.
A book that has fallen out of reach is not reprinted here. It is set anew, in a second medium, with its apparatus made to work the way the author meant it to. A remediation rather than a facsimile.
What a volume gets
- The text of the first edition, proofread against the printed book, with misprints corrected and listed.
- Notes linked both ways, and the original page numbers kept as anchors on the page and as a page list in the EPUB, so the old citations still land.
- An accessible EPUB and PDF, a new cover, and full metadata.
- DOIs for the book and its chapters, and deposit with a preservation archive.
- Where it is wanted, help with the rights: finding the contract, the reversion request, and the licence.
Who it is for
Learned societies with a critical tradition out of print. Authors, and the families of authors, whose books deserve readers again. Library publishing programs that need the backlist to meet readers, and accessibility standards, where they are.
